Mark Dever serves as senior Pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C. He is the author of several books, including The Message of the Old Testament and The Message of the New Testament, texts used by Hunter Street’s Biblical Theology reading groups. He is the president of 9Marks Ministries and has taught at a number of seminaries. He and his wife Connie live and minister with their son, Nathan, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Dever will preach Sunday, September 14 and will speak on Sunday and Monday evenings.
Wayne Grudem is Research Professor of Bible and Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Phoenix. Dr. Grudem has written more than 100 articles for both popular and academic journals, and his books include: Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine, the text used by Hunter Street Theological Reading Groups. He has served as the president of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, as President of the Evangelical Theological Society, and as a member of the Translation Oversight Committee for the English Standard Version of the Bible. Dr. Grudem and his wife, Margaret live in Phoenix and have three grown sons.
Dr. Grudem will speak Sunday evening, Monday noon (Lunch with Business Leaders) and Monday evening.
Russell Moore serves as Dean of the School of Theology, Senior Vice President for Academic Administration, and Associate Professor of Christian Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a keynote speaker at Hunter Street’s first Living Truth Conference in 2006 and led the Marriage Getaway in 2006. He serves as executive director of the Henry Institute, a think-tank devoted to equipping churches and church leaders to engage the culture from a biblical perspective. He has written frequently on issues of theology, culture and political theory and is a regular columnist for Baptist Press. Dr. Moore has served on the pastoral staffs of two Mississippi Baptist churches. Prior to entering the ministry, he was an aide to U.S. Congressman Gene Taylor. He and his wife have three sons and live in Louisville.
Dr. Moore will speak Tuesday evening.
Timothy George is the founding dean of Beeson Divinity School at Samford University and has been at Beeson since its inception in 1988. He teaches church history, historical theology, and theology of the Reformers. He is currently serving as executive editor for Christianity Today along with serving on the editorial advisory boards of The Harvard Theological Review, Christian History, and Books & Culture. A prolific author, he has written more than 20 books and regularly contributes to scholarly journals. His textbook, Theology of the Reformers, is the standard textbook in many schools and seminaries on reformation theology. An ordained minister, he has pastored churches in Tennessee, Alabama, and Massachusetts. He and his wife, Denise, have two children, Christian and Alyce.
